Our Teachers

EVERY TEACHER at MUSIC TOGETHER® with MUSIC AND ME (Only our name has changed),  is passionate about music—and, more importantly, about supporting your child's musical journey. All have successfully completed the Music Together Teacher Training developed by the Center for Music and Young Children® in Princeton, New Jersey, and continue to participate in professional development workshops. In addition, many of our teachers have participated in Music Together's Advanced Teacher Certification Program. Music Together teachers are specially trained in creating a relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented setting which facilitates both the children's learning and their adults' participation.

Wendy's vision for Mommy, Music & Me, inc., founded in 2003, is to provide a nurturing place for families to participate and support their children's musical, creative, social and academic journey of learning, in developmentally appropriate and fantastic ways. So many babies making music since 2003 have a deep love of music making and many have continued their love of music by participating in formal music education; school choirs, bands, and orchestras.

Wendy's journey to early childhood music education and exploration is a natural progression from all of her experience prior to motherhood. Every Mom wants the best for their child, and I want the best for your child as well.

After graduating S.U.N.Y. Binghamton with a B.A. in Theater Arts, with honors, she spent the next sixteen years performing professionally as an actress and singer internationally, nationally, in six New York Off-Broadway shows, in Cabarets, countless new musicals, commercials and voice-overs.  During her professional acting career she continued to study voice, acting and dance in New York. "Wendy Baila" DeAngelis is a member of AEA (Actor's Equity Association), SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild/ American Federation of Television and Radio Actors).

In addition to founding Mommy, Music, & Me, inc. and making Music Together with thousands of families throughout Queens, Wendy has been privileged to be a Music Educator in Queens and Long Island, NY at B'Above Head Start, Flushing Town Hall, The Samuel Field YM & YWHA, Countryside Montessori Day School, Not Just Art, Inc., and Beth Sholom Day Camp. Since teaching Music Together she has learned to play the guitar for her classes.

Awards: Music Together Certification Level II, having demonstrated outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy and parent education. The certificate was granted by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ, Kenneth K. Guilmartin, Founder/Director.

Recordings: "Chasing Rainbows", written by Nadine Scharman. This multicultural storybook and CD, is about a young girl and her flute, who travels around the world (with her Aunt), to find her own inner voice.  You may hear Wendy's voice as storyteller and singer as she narrates the book and plays every character the young girl meets on her worldwide musical journey .

Music has always been a big part of her life. Always singing on the way to school or while playing in the park or doing anything at all! Her first concert was at the age of 2 to see her favorite musical group, Sharon Lois and Bram. At 5 she was introduced to the piano. She played clarinet in middle school and guitar in high school. Now as a mother herself she's discovered the joy of making music with a new generation through Music Together. She's driven to lead classes for the benefit of early childhood development, motor skills, language skills, basic music competence and most of all fun!! Music has been a strong influence in Ivana's life from an early age - from the first classical music concerts she attended as a toddler, through music education in elementary school, and participation in various choirs.

Her formal education earned her a Masters Degree in Journalism, and she worked as a radio host and producer for seven years in Croatia, her native country. After moving to New York in 2010, she continued to nurture her passion for singing by auditioning for and joining The Cecilia Chorus of New York. She is proud to note that she has performed in Carnegie Hall a few times already.

After giving birth to her daughter, Ivana decided to set her priorities to what she enjoys the most - music and children. She is a registered Music Together teacher and excited to grow as an early childhood educator within Mommy, Music & Me, inc. and the Music Together family.
